Judge gives PBC drywall cases the go-ahead

Defective drywall cases filed in Palm Beach County may proceed without waiting for decisions about similar cases already filed in federal court, Judge Glenn Kelley of Palm Beach County Circuit Court ruled yesterday. There are more than 70 such cases pending in the county’s circuit court and some defendants, including builder Centerline Homes and drywall distributor Banner Supply, had requested a stay on their cases. “It’s a really huge win,” said David Durkee, a representative for the plaintiffs in the consolidated circuit court cases. “Now we can resolve the cases or have our day in court.” [Palm Beach Post]
