“Robo-signer” use was widespread

The operations manager at David J. Stern Law Firm, one of the firms
targeted in
Attorney General Bill McCollum’s foreclosure probe, said she
signed foreclosure documents for two hours a day on behalf of banks
without reading what she was signing. When she wasn’t available,
employees would forge her signature, according to a sworn statement.
The practice of so-called “robo-signing” was apparently widespread, as
lenders like CitiMortgage allegedly engaged in the same practice,
