Despite a foreclosure judgment on its historic property on Royal
Poinciana Way, the Testa family is still holding to a mid-November date
to re-open Testa’s eatery. “We’re very optimistic,” said co-owner Joe
Scheerer. “This is our 90th year on the island, and we’re excited to
reopen.” The family is negotiating with investors to revive a
redevelopment plan for the site, along with helping to pay the $7
million it owes to Cypress Trust Co. of Palm Beach. The restaurant
closed Aug. 11, just after a final judgment of foreclosure against the
building, the adjacent gas station and the nearby Via Testa shopping
area. [Palm
