Roger Gamblin, the head of Florida’s Flagler Title who was in federal custody on fraud charges, died this morning of heart-related and other illnesses, his attorney told the Palm Beach Post. Flagler had been one of the largest writers of title insurance for commercial properties in the country. Gamblin, who owned the company with his wife, Peggy, was accused of stealing $10 million from his clients and then skipping town in 2008. He was caught last month by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Colorado and appeared in court in West Palm Beach earlier this month. His attorney said he had been “very ill for many, many years.” [Palm Beach Post]
