Miami, Vegas top cities to buy a home

A report by San Francisco-based Trulia says Miami and Las Vegas are the
top cities in which to buy a home rather than rent one. “If you’re a qualified buyer and
thinking of renting in Miami, we’re saying take a step back and
re-evaluate,” said Ken Shuman, a spokesperson for Trulia. “It’s a
buyer’s dream right now.” The only other Florida city in the top 10 was
Jacksonville, although only the top 50 cities by population were
considered, meaning Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach didn’t make the
list. Arlington, Texas; and Mesa and Phoenix, Ariz. round out the top five
on the list. Foreclosures, along with unemployment problems, typically
make markets more affordable for buying rather than renting, according
