The Clevelander on South Beach is sold out right now due to the Winter
Music Conference, one of a number of hotels seeing a boost in visitors
due to the presence of the yearly festival, which occurs in venues
across Miami and Miami Beach. “The hotel’s busy and there’s a buzz,”
said Karlene Palmer-McLeod, marketing manager at the Clevelander.
Several properties, including the Catalina Hotel, the Chesterfield, the
Whitelaw, the Shelley and the Chelsea are throwing parties coordinated
with the festival. Rolando Aedo, senior vice president at the Greater
Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, said officials expected an
increase in hotel occupancy due to the event and the upcoming Ultra
Music Festival, which saw its date changed this year to accommodate more
guests in the city. [Miami
