Non-profit foreclosure mediation now an alternative to state-run program

The Foreclosure Mediation Program, an alternative to the ineffective state-sponsored mediation program created after mediation became required for Florida home foreclosures in 2009, is now available to Florida residents. The program is sponsored by non-profit Earth’s Angels United and managed by the Mediation Center Southeast, and its CEO Colleen Sharkey. Sharkey said the program’s ability to cooperate with state laws in a timely manner helps bring lenders to the table, and ultimately keeps homeowners in their home. [HousingWire]
