The vast majority of real estate professionals are now using social media, according to social media management website Postling.com, which culled data for Mashable from more than 500 real estate and 7,000 small business accounts to determine how the industry is using the site. On the whole, the real estate industry is lagging when it comes to Twitter, but has a larger-than-average presence on Facebook and YouTube when compared to other small businesses. Still, it appears the industry is falling short when it comes to consumer demand for video: Only 12 percent of real estate professionals have YouTube accounts, but 73 percent of homeowners say they would be more likely to list their property with a broker who offered video tours.
