Boca Raton foreclosure law firm Shapiro & Fishman caught a break this morning when the 4th District Court of Appeal upheld a decision that said the state cannot subpoena the firm, the Palm Beach Post reported. A trial court previously found that the Florida attorney general’s office doesn’t have the authority to investigate the firm, per the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. The state is currently embarking on several other investigations into foreclosure law firms, and it’s unclear whether this ruling will affect those probes. [Palm Beach Post]
