Palm Beach County restaurants struggle

Higher food prices have led to a struggle this summer for Palm Beach
County’s eateries, with many owners saying they have no choice but to
absorb the increases — or raise prices. “We’ve tried multiple sources
to find the same quality of meat and fishes at reduced costs, but we
haven’t been able to,” said Taylor Smith, owner of Caliente Kitchen in
Boynton Beach. “So I’ve been eating it on my end.” Gas prices are also
part of the problem, but so are a number of other factors, such as the
Japanese radiation crisis’ impact on seafood demand and rising wheat
prices. [Sun
