Vikram Chatwal on the Dream South Beach

International hotelier Vikram Chatwal now has a hotel in Miami, with the
Dream South Beach at 1111 Collins Avenue. The hotel, which opened last
month, is made up of two historic buildings, the Palmer House and Tudor
Hotel, which add up to 108 rooms. “Miami is a very funky city and I
respect Art Deco,” he said. “I think it’s the American Riviera really —
with the beaches and the boating.” Chatwal said he envisioned expanding
his Dream and Night hotel franchises to a number of cities. “We want to
be in most metropolitan cities, in most growing urban areas and in
trendy places that have a lot of industries and people,” he said. [Miami
