Expansion plan for Bal Harbour shops moving forward as land swap gets nod

The proposed expansion of the Bal Harbour shops, a project that would mean 50 new retailers at the property, is making progress, the Miami Herald reported. Members of the Church by the Sea, which is on the land targeted by the owners of the shops, have approved a plan to relocate the church in a land swap. “It’s a monumental vote and a meaningful step in the right direction,” said Matthew Whitman Lazenby, operating partner at Bal Harbour Shops. The project would also include a movie theater and a new department store. [Miami Herald]
