Two of the biggest South Florida-based music stars, Jimmy Buffett and Gloria Estefan, are joining forces in an attempt to save the Miami Marine Stadium.

Buffett and Estefan are part of a fundraising event at the Coral Gables Museum on Jan. 9, the Miami Herald reported. Both plan to participate in a group discussion moderated by NBC 6 anchor Jackie Nespral about their memories of the waterfront stadium. Buffett in 1986 released his first home video from a concert shot at the stadium, which was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew in 1992.
