Douglas Elliman makes hire, Metro 1 promotes broker and real estate attorney switches firms

Giovanni Caloretti joined Douglas Elliman as director of international sales for the brokerage’s Florida team. He has nearly 10 years of real estate experience, most recently with Miami-based Cervera Real Estate. Caloretti, who specializes in handling residential deals for Latin American clients, was born in Chicago and relocated to South Florida 20 years ago.

Metro 1 Commercial promoted Tony Arellano to executive vice president. Arellano will manage the firm’s sales and leasing efforts for more than $200 million in commercial real estate assets. He joined the firm in 2007 as its commercial sales director.

Longtime real estate attorney Barbara Ferrer joined the Miami office of GrayRobinson as a shareholder in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Ferrer most recently was a partner at Holland & Knight. She advises clients on a variety of real estate and banking transactions. — Eric Kalis
