From the New York site: The investigation into the death of Susan Berman, a close friend of Durst family black sheep Robert Durst, has been reopened.
New evidence revealed in the fifth episode of HBO documentary series “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst,” could help the investigation, according to the New York Times. Los Angeles investigators are trying to find a link between the disappearance of Durst’s first wife Kathleen and the 2000 murder of Berman in her Los Angeles home. Berman died from a single gunshot to the back of her head.
The fifth episode of the six-part series indicates that Durst, 71, knew about Berman’s death on the day she was killed and knew that her body was inside her home. On that day, Los Angeles police received a note with Berman’s address, written in block letters and the word “cadaver.”
Sareb Kaufman, Berman’s stepson, showed a letter from Durst to Berman that showed the same handwriting as the note police received that day. On both notes, Beverly Hills was misspelled as “Beverley Hills.”
In 2003, Durst was acquitted of murdering his elderly neighbor in Galveston, Tex. [NYT] — Claire Moses
