Miami-Dade County’s condo market had a strong showing for the first week of August, with eight units selling for more than $1 million each.
The week’s top sale belongs to Claudia Whitechurch of Coldwell Banker, who was the listing agent for an oceanfront unit at Miami Beach’s Green Diamond. Unit 1001, which has modern finishes like floor-to-ceiling glass and recessed lighting, sold for $2.5 million after spending 41 days on the market. The unit’s price per square foot for this sale was $1,248 — more than double that of next most expensive sale in the county.
Following Whitechurch was Angela Podolla of Esslinger Wooten Maxwell, who represented the seller of a $1.5 million unit at the Bristol Tower in Brickell. The condo has granite countertops, travertine flooring and views of Biscayne Bay. Unit 501 was listed for sale 114 days ago and closed Friday. The price equates to $576 per square foot.
The remaining units on this week’s list of pricey condo sales hovered between $1.45 and $1.1 million, with two exceptions: a corner unit at the Turnberry Townhomes in Aventura, which sold for $900,000, and a waterfront unit in Miami Beach’s Eden House that traded for $850,000.
Beyond the county’s luxury sales, a total of 193 condos were sold in Miami-Dade for $55 million last week. That’s a big jump from the previous week, which saw 147 condos sold for $43 million. This week’s prices averaged $287,815 per unit and $224 per square foot.
