Still in the late stages of construction, the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is taking room reservations at a nightly rate starting at $197.70.
The promotional rate, which includes two complementary margaritas, is effective for certain guest rooms from October 1 to December 15. During the same period, rooms with ocean views are priced at $239 per night.
The $197.70 promotional rate derives from the 1977 hit song, “Margaritaville,” by recording artist and entrepreneur Jimmy Buffett.
Room rates started at $259 a night when the Margaritaville resort began taking reservations in May.
Guests also pay a daily fee of $15 for Wi-Fi access, two beach chairs and an umbrella, admission to a fitness center, in-room coffee service and local telephone calls.
Still uncertain is when the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort will open. The developer, Lon Tabathnick, said in May that the resort would be certified for occupancy sometime around Labor Day, September 7.
Construction of the 17-story resort is nearly done. The site is five acres along State Road A1A. The resort will have 305 rooms, 44 suites, and two penthouse units.
A spokeswoman for the Margaritaville resort said its bars and restaurants will be open to the public, but only registered guests will have access to the resort’s swimming pool and other amenities. [Sun-Sentinel] – Mike Seemuth
