H&M is opening a new store at Westland Mall on Nov. 19, the popular Swedish chain announced on Monday.
The 24,000-square-foot retail store, at 1695 West 49th Street in Hialeah, will be H&M’s 26th in Florida. The store announced in May that would also open this fall at Dolphin Mall, but that store is not yet open.
The new H&M location will offer collections for ladies, men, young ladies, and young men, with separate “store within a store” sections for accessories, lingerie, cosmetics, and sports apparel. The Westland Mall location will also carry H&M’s children’s collection, from newborn to fourteen years.
One of the world’s largest fashion retailers, H&M, whose full name is Hennes & Mauritz AB, is known for offering fashion-forward apparel at affordable prices.
Since H&M opened the doors to its first U.S. store on New York’s Fifth Avenue 15 years ago, the United States has been one of the retailer’s most successful markets, the company said in a release. In total, H&M has 399 locations across the country.
Other South Florida H&M locations include Lincoln Road, Aventura Mall, Miami International Mall and Boynton Beach Mall, according to H&M’s website. The Lincoln Road location is in a 1935 building designed by cinema architect Thomas Lamb. An 18,000-square-foot H&M is also open at Related Group’s mixed-use shopping center CityPlace in West Palm Beach.
At Westland Mall, H&M will join such stores as JCPenney, Macy’s, Sears, Bath & Body Works, Finish Line, Pandora, New York & Company, Victoria’s Secret, Champ’s Sports, Aeropostale and Express, according to the mall’s website. — Ina Cordle
