Movers & Shakers: Sperry Van Ness taps new retail director…and more

Sperry Van Ness tapped Jeff Hammond as director of retail in the company’s Miami office, SVN South. Hammond, who was previously a director at NAI, has negotiated more than 300 sale and lease transactions over his 18-year career.

Hammond specializes in build-to-suit retail, property sales and leases throughout the U.S. with a focus on South Florida, according to a press release.

Miami-based State Street Realty hired Frank Trelles as a vice president. Trelles will lead new business development, investment sales, tenant and landlord representation, and market research.

He has 10 years of experience in South Florida commercial real estate and has closed more than $500 million in sales. Trelles was previously an executive vice president at Cornerstone International Realty, and before that a senior associate at Westvest Associates.

State Street Realty has completed more than 1.8 million square feet in commercial transactions in 2015, according to a press release.

Jenny Arias May joined Metro 1‘s Land and Development Division as a commercial agent. May, a certified “green” Realtor, has more than 12 years of industry-related experience. She previously worked at Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate.

Westside Estate Agency hired Kristie Quinones as a real estate agent in the firm’s Coral Gables office. Quinones has worked for Prudential and Aquasun Realty.

WEA, led in Miami by Cyril Bijaoui, is based in Los Angeles. The luxury real estate agency opened in South Florida about a year ago, and is looking to recruit more agents and staff. – Katherine Kallergis
