From the New York website: Unrequited love is the most painful kind.

Vornado Realty Trust’s Steven Roth said Thursday that he doesn’t spend any time working on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, despite being tapped as one of Trump’s key economic advisers in August.

Roth, speaking at a global real estate conference hosted by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, was asked about how much time he committed to helping craft economic policy for Trump, a role the GOP nominee had tapped him for in August, along with Vector Group’s Howard Lorber and Colony Capital founder Tom Barrack.

But Roth, who in New York owns 1290 Avenue of the Americas along with Trump and in Miami Beach owns 1100 Lincoln Road, brushed off the question from B of A’s James Feldman Thursday. When pushed, he replied: “I have nothing to say about the campaign and I don’t spend any time on it.”

As of July, the Trump Victory election fund had raised over $2.2 million from New York real estate players, including Lorber, Barrack and former Vornado CEO Michael Fascitelli. Conspicuously absent from that donor list was Roth.

Trump singled out Roth for praise in his GOP primary victory speech in New York in April, referring to him as “my man.”
