On the scene of Kurz Real Estate’s launch party: PHOTOS

The threat of Hurricane Matthew barreling toward South Florida wasn’t enough to stop Kurz Real Estate from hosting its launch party in Coconut Grove on Wednesday.

Neighborhood agents and other real estate wheelers and dealers attended the night-time event, hosted at Kurz’s newly opened offices in the former 3,000-square-foot Grove Pharmacy building at 3692 Grand Avenue.

The night was capped with a celebratory ribbon cutting and the unveiling of a painting of founder David Kurz from Miami artist Antonio McIlwaine.

Kurz jumped ship from Douglas Elliman in August to launch his own firm, bringing with him his five-person team. The brokerage’s roster now so far includes 23 agents, but Kurz is aiming to hire 200 realtors and hit $1 billion in sales by the end of the firm’s first operating year. Sean Stewart-Muniz and Katherine Kallergis
