The Riviera Country Club in Coral Gables is embarking on a $37 million, 60,000-square-foot, two-story clubhouse construction project.

Peacock+Lewis LLC is behind the designs, which will feature an 8,000-square-foot fitness center, an aquatic complex with a 25-meter lap pool and family pool, and a 6,000-square-foot event room that can handle 400 members at a time, the South Florida Business Journal reported.

The revamp of the 70-year-old clubhouse at 1155 Blue Road comes after the completion of a $9.6 million renovation to the country club‘s 18-hole golf course last year.

Miami-based Beauchamp Construction is building the project, which will promote views of the new golf course, wrap-around terraces, a 2,500-square-foot dining room and a ceremonial entrance from Blue Road.

The Coral Gables project is expected to be completed in fall 2019. [SFBJ] Amanda Rabines
