The former home and recording studio of producer and songwriter Desmond Child will hit the market for $8.95 million, listing agents Eloy Carmenate and Mick Duchon told The Real Deal.

Duchon, Carmenate and Brett Harris of Douglas Elliman will list the property at 6401 Pine Tree Circle Drive, which was restored by owner and spec homebuilder Barry Brodsky of Brodson Construction. The 7,000-square-foot, Mediterranean-style home was originally designed by Miami Beach architect Russell Pancoast and sits on a waterfront 20,900-square-foot lot. It was built in 1936.

Child, a Songwriters Hall of Fame member and Florida native, wrote songs like Kiss’ “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” and Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.” He lived in the Pine Tree home from 1994 to 2004, and sold it to Brodsky in 2004 for $2.66 million. It also housed “several noted musicians,” in the past according to a press release.

Brodsky lives in the home with his family and is looking to downsize, Carmenate and Duchon told TRD. “He’s going to build himself another house that’s more compact for him,” Carmenate said.

The property includes about 100 feet of water frontage, a private guest house with a kitchenette, a gym, outdoor kitchen and dining area, an infinity pool, and herb gardens. The home has six bedrooms and Vladimir Kagan furniture, and the private recording studio was converted to a home theater.

It will hit the market later on Friday.

Brodsky listed a spec house at 4567 Pine Tree Drive last month for nearly $30 million. That mansion features a 200-foot long bridge overlooking a man-made lagoon, and it’s next to the spec estate he sold earlier this year with its own waterslide for $22.6 million. Duchon and Carmenate were the listing agents for that sale.
