June sales of Naples-area houses and condos increased 7 percent, pulled higher by home-buying in the northern end of the city.

The Naples Area Board of Realtors also reported that the average number of days before listings became June sales was 97, up sharply from 76 days in June 2016.

“The North Naples area is making a big turnaround, especially in the condominium market,” Coco Amar, a managing broker at John R. Wood Properties, said in the press release issued by the Naples Area Board of Realtors.

The Realtors’ monthly Naples-area report showed that the number of June sales of houses and condos rose to 2,880 from 2,704 last year.

The June number of active listings for Naples-area houses and condos moved up 4 percent to 5,189 from 4,983 last year.

The median price of June house sales dropped 1 percent to $421,000 from $418,000 last year.

But the median price of June condo sales increased by 9 percent to $282,000 from $259,000 last year.

“Buyers struggling to find homes under $300,000 in the single-family market are turning to condominiums or coach homes as an alternative,” Steve Barker, advising broker for Equity Realty, said in the Realtors’ press release.
