Developer proposes construction of 79 houses in Parkland for buyers 55 and older

A company headed by Brian Tuttle paid $4 million early last year for the proposed construction site next to the Four Seasons at Parkland development

A developer proposed construction of 79 houses for buyers 55 and older in Parkland despite a deadly mass shooting there last month.

TLH Sabra2 LLC, led by manager Brian Tuttle of Hillsboro Beach, proposed new zoning for a 26.5-acre site where the residential development would unfold in Parkland, long a hot spot in South Florida for home building.

Parkland’s planning and zoning board will consider the proposed zoning on Thursday.

Tuttle’s limited liability company acquired the 26.5-acre development site early last year for $4 million.

Other companies run by Tuttle acquired land just west of the 26.5-acre site and sold it to K. Hovnanian Homes, where the national home building company constructing houses in a development called Four Seasons at Parkland for buyers 55 and older.

The Four Seasons project has government approvals for 538 houses on 177 acres in Parkland.

Tuttle told the South Florida Business Journal that he plans to sell his proposed 26.5-acre residential development to K. Hovnanian or another home builder.
