Chris Carlos, a partner at a major liquor distributor, listed a penthouse at the Oceana Bal Harbour condominium for sale with a $35 million asking price.

That would be 40 percent more than Carlos paid last year for the 9,370-square-foot penthouse at 10201 Collins Avenue in Bal Harbour.

Carlos is a partner at Republic National Distributing Co., one of the largest liquor distributors in the nation. The largest is Miami-based Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.

Carlos paid $25 million for his Bal Harbour penthouse in April 2017 and invested another $6 million to add two bedrooms, rebuild the central stairway and install better insulation behind walls.

The penthouse now has six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, plus a private rooftop terrace spanning 10,000 square feet with an outdoor kitchen and a swimming pool.

Completed in late 2016 by billionaire developer Eduardo Costantini, Oceana Bal Harbour is approximately 90 percent sold, according to Tony Imbesi, an agent of brokerage firm Douglas Elliman, who is marketing the penthouse that Carlos wants to sell.

Carlos is the son of Michael C. Carlos, former chairman and CEO of Republic National. [Forbes] – Mike Seemuth
