Compass expands in Coral Gables with two new offices

Brokerage acquired 50-agent Greater Miami Investments

Compass is expanding its reach in Coral Gables with two new offices.

The brokerage, led in Florida by general manager Beth Butler, is merging with Greater Miami Investments at 60 Aragon Avenue and opening a second office at 4699 Ponce de Leon Boulevard for a combined 4,000 square feet, according to a press release.

Greater Miami Investments, a 50-agent firm led by Orlando and Iliana Abella, is joining Compass as the GMI-Abella team and keeping its Aragon Avenue office open. GMI has listings in the Gables, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, Brickell, Pinecrest and South Miami, and offers leasing and property management for commercial properties, as well.

Compass’ Audrey Ross team, and Jorge Fernandez and Yasser Ponce’s team will be located at the Ponce de Leon office.

In Los Angeles, Compass is acquiring Pacific Union, one of the largest brokerages on the West Coast with 1,700 agents and $14 billion in sales last year.

In South Florida, former Engel & Völkers broker Giancarlo Cuffia recently joined Compass as it opened a new office in Fort Lauderdale at 1200 East Las Olas Boulevard. In July, the brokerage expanded into the Southwest Florida market by opening an office in Naples. – Katherine Kallergis
