Coyo Taco and Puña slated to open at the Giralda Ave redevelopment
120 Giralda Avenue | Coral Gables
The developer of 120 Giralda Avenue, a retail and restaurant project on “Restaurant Row” in Coral Gables, secured a $6.25 million mortgage from City National Bank of Florida.
120 Giralda LLC, controlled by Marc and Barry Schwarzberg of Maven Real Estate, is redeveloping the building. The company acquired the property last year from the Church of Scientology for $5.8 million.
The renovation calls for 14,534 square feet of commercial space with a rooftop restaurant and 3,000 to 11,000 square feet of space on the ground floor. Coyo Taco and Puña will be tenants at the building. Puña is taking about 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space on the rooftop and is set to open in the third quarter of next year, according to a release.
Rafael Romero and Steven Henenfeld of CREC are handling leasing for the developer.
Earlier this year, Coral Gables completed a streetscape project for Giralda Avenue and Miracle Mile. Giralda was closed off to cars.
Swine | Coral Gables
50 Eggs is closing Swine after five years. Founder and CEO John Kunkel told Miami.com that he’s going to open a new concept in the space at 2415 Ponce de Leon Boulevard in Coral Gables.
The restaurant company is expanding Yardbird to Las Vegas, Singapore and Beverly Hills. Earlier this year, it closed Spring Chicken at the original Lime location, at 1439 Alton Road.
Sanguich De Miami | Little Havana
Sanguich De Miami opened its first brick-and-mortar location at 2057 Southwest Eighth Street. The restaurant is leasing about 750 square feet at the strip shopping center, according to a release.
Property records show a company owned by David, Daniel and Brian Lombardi of Lombardi Properties, along with Jared Brunnabend of Bayshore Investment Partners, paid $3.1 million for the property in 2017.
The Cat Café South Beach | Miami Beach
A coffee bar and cat foster home area is opening in Miami Beach. The 2,900-square-foot “cat cafe” will be divided into two spaces by a glass wall, according to the South Florida Business Journal. Celyta Jackson owns the business, which is slated to open at 1423 Washington Avenue.
