Movers & Shakers: Stantec names new Miami principal, Dwntwn Realty Advisors expands & more

Stantec promoted Andrew Burnett to principal of the Miami office.

Burnett was one of the lead architects working on the 50-story Solitair Brickell project across from Brickell City Centre. As a principal, he’ll be responsible for hiring new architects, overseeing project design quality and standards, and managing the firm’s teams in Miami and Orlando. He joined Stantec in 2014 as a senior associate.

Dwntwn Realty Advisors hired three new associates: Michael Betancourt, Joey Fernandez and Jason Abitbol. Betancourt was a retail leasing specialist with Horizon Properties; Fernandez previously worked with Space in the Raw, a New York City-based retail leasing firm; and Abitbol, a licensed attorney, is transitioning to real estate. Tony Arellano and Devlin Marinoff launched Dwntwn Realty Advisors earlier this year, which has closed more than $100 million worth of deals since then, according to a release.

John Brewer joined Native Realty, a commercial real estate firm in Fort Lauderdale led by Jaime Sturgis. Brewer, who’s worked with bars, restaurants and nightclubs in New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, is representing Zona Fresca Fresh Mex and Bufarella La Pizza Di Napoli. He previously worked with Azor Restaurant Advisors, and Prakas & Co.

Brickell Flatiron has a new sales director. Kari Fernandez is now leading sales for CMC Group’s 64-story, 527-unit luxury condo tower. Fortune Development Sales is the exclusive sales and marketing firm for the project, which is under construction. Fernandez is joining CMC from the Related Group, where she was sales director of Brickell Heights in Miami and SLS Puerto Madero in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Susan Davis joined the Keyes Company as manager of its Wellington office, overseeing more than 120 agents. The Wellington office has closed more than $100 million in sales so far this year, up 56 percent year-over-year. Davis was previously a principal broker at RE/MAX Distinctive in Virginia.

Karen Reiter and Lisa Miller left Keller Williams and joined One Sotheby’s International Realty as global real estate advisers based in Aventura. Reiter has closed more than $500 million in sales over her career, and was the founder and managing director of Tanglewood Acquisition Group, a real estate group that specializes in acquisition, development, sales and leasing. Miller, an attorney, was a top agent at Keller Williams, working on luxury residential and commercial sales.

Bento Queiroz is now a director of luxury sales at Compass. Queiroz was previously with Brown Harris Stevens, and is bringing with him more than $31 million in listings. He’s based out of Compass’ South Beach office.

Lee & Associates Miami brought on Victor Pastor as senior vice president of retail investment sales. Pastor left Tiktin Real Estate Investment Services, where he was a senior associate. His previous positions include director of international business at NAI Global and a senior associate at Marcus & Millichap. Pastor has focused on retail deals, and has worked with a number of high net-worth families from Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Colombia.

Rhea Panczak was named director of sales for Pointe Midtown, a residential community on PGA Boulevard, just west of Military Trail in Palm Beach Gardens. Ascend Properties, led by Richard Finkelstein, Michael Wohl and Dean Borg, is the developer. Panczak has worked with Ascend over the last 20 years, selling more than 200 homes at Mirabella at Mirasol.
