Two food halls in Miami Beach and Little Haiti are opening soon
Afishonado | Coconut Grove
Former “Top Chef” winner Jeremy Ford will open a new waterfront restaurant at the Treo Group’s mixed-use project in Coconut Grove.
Ford is leasing more than 7,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space at Regatta Harbour at 3385 Pan American Drive in Miami. Treo partnered with Grove Bay Hospitality Group to bring the celebrity chef. The restaurant, called Afishonado, is expected to open in 2020. Celano Design Studio is handling the interior design.
Ford’s other local restaurants include Stubborn Seed and a stall at Time Out Market, both in Miami Beach. Time Out has yet to open its food hall.
Treo is leasing more than 9.5 waterfront acres of city-owned land to build the project, which calls for more than 100,000 square feet of retail, specialty stores, marina services, floating docks, parking, event and restaurant space. Lyle Stern and Sara Wolfe of Koniver Stern Group are the commercial leasing brokers.
The Food Hall at the Citadel | Little Haiti
The Food Hall at the Citadel is opening on Feb. 16 in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood. Urban Atlantic Group developed the food hall, which will have 15 food and beverage concepts.
The 62,000-square-foot building, built in 1951 as a First Federal Savings & Loan Bank, was redeveloped in 2016 and now includes a 5,000-square-foot rooftop bar and lounge, a 9,000-square-foot marketplace and Entercom Communications’ headquarters on the top floor.
Vendors at the food hall include Palmar, Taquiza, Ash! Pizza Parlor, Vice City Bean and Bianco Gelato. It’s located at 8300 Northeast Second Avenue.
Joseph’s Classic Market | Boca Raton
Joseph’s Classic Market is upgrading to a new space at Town Center at Boca Raton, joining new dining concepts True Food Kitchen and La Boulangerie Boul’Mich.
Joseph’s Classic Market is leasing 14,700 square feet from Simon Property Group and is planning to open in the spring of next year. The specialty market and restaurant will take over the former Piñon Grill and Blue Martini spaces at the Boca Raton mall.
True Food Kitchen and La Boulangerie Boul’Mich are expected to open in the fall, according to a release.
Stage | Palm Beach Gardens
Gone is Carmine’s Crab Shack and in its place will be a new Indian concept from Miami chef Pushkar Marathe.
Marathe, of Ghee Indian Kitchen, is partnering with Andy Dugard, general manager of Buccan Palm Beach, to open Stage at 2000 PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens.
Carmine’s closed in 2017, the Palm Beach Post reported. Stage, which will offer small Indian dishes, is expected to open in October.
The Lincoln Eatery | Miami Beach
Terranova Corp.’s Lincoln Eatery opened this week. The 9,600-square-foot food hall has 14 food and beverage vendors at 723 Lincoln Lane.
Vendors include The Crafted Burger, nitrogen ice cream concept Chilln, Fresh Garden Bowls, Manhattan Paletas, Marble & Rye, Necessary Purveyors, Patagonia, The Tavern Bar, Toast & More, TYO Sushi and XO Espresso Bar.
Terranova plans to open the second phase of the project, a rooftop terrace, later this year.
