Kurz Real Estate acquired a majority ownership in a Miami Lakes brokerage, doubling Kurz’s agent count to more than 200.

David Kurz’s firm, based in Coconut Grove, is partnering with Golden Acre Real Estate. Golden Acre will now become Golden Acre Kurz Real Estate. Kurz is also planning to add up to three more offices this year and grow to about 300 agents, he said.

Golden Acre, at 5881 Northwest 151st Street, is led by Victor Vicens and Robert Dominguez. Vicens will be the broker of record and both will retain a minority ownership stake in the Miami Lakes office, which closed about $40 million in sales last year. Most sales were in Miami Lakes, Hialeah and Broward County.

Kurz aims to grow sales volume in that office to nearly $100 million this year. Overall, he hopes to close more than $350 million in sales volume this year.

Kurz, a former Douglas Elliman director of luxury sales and team leader, launched his brokerage in the fall of 2016. Most of the company’s sales are in the $350,000 to $450,000 range.
