Ex-wife of billionaire Bill Koch sells West Palm home

UPDATED, Aug. 11, 10:26 a.m.: The ex-wife of billionaire Bill Koch sold her West Palm Beach home for $5.2 million.

Angela Koch, also known as Angela Stockham, sold the five-bedroom, 5,882-square-foot house at 4417 South Flagler Drive to Gary S. Lachman, a lawyer at Greenspoon Marder. Lachman is a former portfolio manager for the U.S. Department of State.

Koch, an agent with Douglas Elliman, represented herself in the deal, according to Realtor.com. Linda Fellner Lachman of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty represented the buyer.

The renovated West Indies-style home has nearly 3,000 square feet of outdoor living space, a deep water dock with two boat lifts, and a swimming pool on a 0.45-acre lot. It hit the market in 2018 for $6.6 million. The price was cut since then, most recently to $4.7 million in January.

Koch was married to Bill Koch in the late 1990s. Bill, who sold his stake in Koch Industries to his brothers Charles and David in 1983 for $470 million, is worth about $1.5 billion, according to Forbes.

Angela paid $2.8 million in 2008 for the West Palm Beach house, which is near President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, property records show. It was built in 1986 and overlooks Palm Beach island.

Lachman, a real estate and mergers and acquisitions lawyer at Greenspoon Marder’s West Palm Beach office, was the international real estate portfolio manager for the state department between 1998 and 2006, according to his bio. In 2012, he represented the owner of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Istanbul to acquire the Setai Miami Beach out of bankruptcy court.

Lachman’s home at 5604 North Ocean Boulevard is for sale, asking about $2.3 million, according to Zillow.
