A homebuilder sold a house in Boca Raton’s Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club for $6.1 million.
William Joseph Scaggs, as trustee of the William Joseph Scaggs Revocable Trust, and his wife, Kimberly, sold the home at 1871 Thatch Palm Drive to attorney Brian L. Bilzin, a trustee of The Florida Land Trust 1871 Thatch Palm Drive Trust, records show.
Bilzin is a founding partner of the Miami-based law firm Bilzin Sumberg.
According to his Linkedin, William Scaggs is a partner at SRD Building Corp., the homebuilder of more than 130 homes in the Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club. He was formerly a partner at Four Seasons Emerald Bay in the Bahamas.
Palm Beach County records show that Scaggs acquired the property in 2016 for $1.5 million. The existing house, built in 2017, hit the market in 2019 asking $6.9 million. The price dropped to $6.7 million in January. SRD Building Corp. built the home.
David W. Roberts with Royal Palm Properties represented the seller, and Caryn Botknecht with Compass represented the buyer.
The 6,397-square-foot house has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and two half-bathrooms. The property also features a pool, a covered balcony on the second floor and two two-car garages.
Also in Boca Raton’s Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club this month, the co-CEO of a private equity firm bought a home for $6.7 million, and Richard Wackenhut bought a mansion for $12.8 million.
