UPDATED, Dec. 20, 1:40 p.m.: Tacocraft Taqueria & Tequila Bar I Plantation Walk

Handcrafted Hospitality’s Tacocraft Taqueria & Tequila Bar signed a 4,000-square-foot lease at the mixed-use Plantation Walk development.

In January, the Mexican restaurant will open its biggest location so far at 321 North University Drive, according to a Handcrafted Hospitality news release. The space will have both indoor and outdoor bars, two patios and seating for 125 indoors and 50 outdoors.

Art Falcone’s Encore Capital Management is developing Plantation Walk on the northwest corner of North University Drive and West Broward Boulevard. The mixed-use complex includes a completed 262-key Sheraton hotel and a 171-unit apartment building.

In October, Encore sold a seven-story Class A office building that was developed as part of Plantation Walk for $57.5 million.

National Food Distributor I Cypress Pointe Distribution Center

A national distributor and wholesaler of Asian food inked an 85,000-square-foot lease at the Cypress Pointe Distribution Center in Pompano Beach.

The new 153,496-square-foot industrial facility sits on 9.2 acres at 1800 Southwest 13th Court, also in Pompano Beach.

Link Industrial is the developer and project manager.

The tenant is moving from 1728 Park Central Boulevard South, also in Pompano Beach, according to a news release from deal broker CBRE.

The release did not disclose the name of the tenant but the 1728 Park Central Boulevard South property shows JFC International, an Asian food distributor, has a space there.

Tom O’Loughlin and Larry Genet of CBRE represented the tenant. Chris Metzger of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord.

The new project and lease speak to the strength of the industrial market, the only property type to prosper last year because of e-commerce growth.

The asset class continues its robust growth in 2021. The average asking rent for warehouses in Broward County hit $9.68 a square foot in the third quarter, up from $9.19 a square foot during the same period of last year, according to Colliers.

Vilebrequin, OFFLINE by Aerie I Town Center at Boca Raton

A French swimwear brand and an athletic wear brand are the latest tenants to sign leases at the Town Center at Boca Raton shopping mall.

Vilebrequin, the men’s swimwear company, already is open, according to a news release from mall owner Simon Property Group. Activewear OFFLINE by Aerie is expected to open in early 2022 near Macy’s.

Artisanal Swiss chocolate store Laderach also inked a lease, with plans to open in early 2022 near Macy’s, as well.

The mall at 6000 Glades Road announced a slew of other new tenants in October. They include diamond jewelry store Crown of Light, Donna Karan, and a lululemon expansion. All already are set up in their new storefronts.

The Container Store, The Blue Dog Cookhouse & Bar restaurant and Mayor’s are opening next year.

This story was updated to include the name of the tenant that signed a lease at the Cypress Pointe Distribution Center.
