Rothschild & Co. leased space at 830 Brickell for its first Miami office.

The Rothschild family’s global financial services firm took 5,000 square feet at the 55-story tower being developed by Vlad Doronin’s OKO Group and Jonathan Goldstein’s Cain International at 830 Brickell Plaza, according to the ownership group.

The deal marks a continuation of the influx of new-to-market companies to South Florida, with many firms opting to take space at 830 Brickell. The 640,000-square-foot project, which is over 90 percent leased, is slated for completion this year. It will be the first new standalone office tower in Brickell in more than a decade.

Brian Gale and Andrew Trench led the Cushman & Wakefield team that represented the developers in the deal. Scott Quick and Alan Wildes, also of Cushman, represented the tenant.

Eric Hirschfield, who has been with Rothschild since 2016, will lead the Miami office. Bankers

Jaime Arrastia and Hugo Dryland also will work out of the Brickell office.

Rothschild traces its roots to the 1760s when Mayer Amschel Rothschild established himself as a top European banker. The firm is publicly traded, though it remains under the Rothschild family’s control.

The lease comes on the heels of 830 Brickell signing its biggest deal late last year. Law firm Kirkland & Ellis took 115,000 square feet on six floors at the high-rise.

Billionaire hedge funder Ken Griffin’s Citadel also took roughly 90,000 square feet at 830 Brickell. The space will be an interim site until Citadel and Citadel Securities’ permanent Brickell headquarters is developed.

Griffin, who first announced he is moving his firms’ headquarters from Chicago to Brickell last year, purchased a 2.5-acre development site at 1201 Brickell Bay Drive in April for a record $363 million. It’s expected that Citadel and Citadel Securities’ new headquarters will be built on the bayfront property.

Others that have leased at 830 Brickell include law firms Sidley Austin, Winston & Strawn and Baker McKenzie; New York-based insurance firm A-CAP, private equity firm Thoma Bravo; and CI Financial

Another new office tower is planned for Brickell. Swire Properties and Stephen Ross’ Related Companies plan to build the 1,000-foot-tall One Brickell City Centre. The project will be part of Swire’s Brickell City Centre mixed-use complex.
