Westminster Christian School bought the property at 14920 Southwest 67th Avenue, according to records. Westminster, a private school that includes a preschool, as well as an elementary, middle and high school, is immediately south of the site.

The property consists of multiple one-story buildings, totaling 14,600 square feet, that include the Christ Congregational Church and the private Sunrise School of Miami, records show.

Westminster and the church did not immediately return inquiries regarding plans for the site and whether the church will move.

The deal comes amid a flurry of church sales across South Florida. Developers have homed in on the religious properties with plans to build new projects, while the churches opt to move elsewhere.

In March, Christ Journey Church sold 13.5 acres near Coral Gables, along Sunset Drive near the Palmetto Expressway, for $13.2 million. The buyer, a joint venture between developers James Carr and Armando Codina, plans to build 26 single-family homes and preserve 2 acres of forest land. Christ Journey will use the proceeds for a new house of worship, which Carr and Codina will develop on the same site.

In Fort Lauderdale, developers Tal Levinson and Eric Malinasky plan a six-story building with more than 300 apartments on almost 3 acres on the southeast corner of Northwest Seventh Street and Northwest Fourth Avenue. The property includes the former home of the First Eben Ezer Missionary Christian Church, which has since moved to 3970 Northwest 21st Avenue Oakland Park.
