Argentine Football Association | Wynwood 

The Argentine Football Association opened an office in Miami’s Wynwood

AFA leased 5,100 square feet on the top floor at 128 Northwest 28th Street for the association’s U.S. headquarters, according to a news release and the Miami Herald. Claudio “Chiqui” Tapia is president of AFA, or Association del Futbol Argentino. 

The AFA office marks Miami’s growth as a soccer town, a reputation largely fueled by Argentine icon Lionel Messi’s joining of Inter Miami this summer. The AFA is capitalizing on the soccer-fever in Miami with plans for training facilities in North Bay Village and Hialeah, the Herald reported. 

The office opening also comes ahead of the 2024 Copa America and the 2026 World Cup, which the U.S. is co-hosting along with Mexico and Canada. Miami-Dade County will host three Copa America marches and also is among the World Cup hosts, as well. 

Ege Yapi Global | Miami Design District 

Turkish real estate development and construction firm Ege Yapi Global opened a headquarters for its global division in the Miami Design District

Ege Yapi leased 2,000 square feet at 4141 Northeast Second Avenue in Miami, according to a company news release. 

Founded in 2006, Ege Yapi’s portfolio spans 2 million square meters and $2 billion in investment value, according to the firm’s website. 

Dacra, led by Craig Robins, owns the Design District building, records show. 

Baires Grill | Downtown Doral 

Baires Grill opened as an anchor restaurant at Downtown Doral

The Argentine steakhouse leased 5,400 square feet at 8551 Northwest 53rd Street in Doral, according to a Downtown Doral news release and Baires Grill’s website. 

Founded in 1999, Baires Grill now has seven restaurants in South Florida. The other outposts in the tri-county region are at 1010 South Miami Avenue in Miami’s Brickell, 180 Aragon Avenue in Coral Gables, 2200 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, 18090 Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach, 1307 East Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale and 2210 Weston Road in Weston. 

Martin Koenig owns Baires Grill. 

Codina Partners, led by Armando Codina and Ana-Marie Codina Barlick, is the master developer of the 250-acre Downtown Doral mixed-use complex. It consists of 70 shops and restaurants, 1 million square feet of offices, 5,000 residential units, an elementary and an upper charter school, the City of Doral’s government center and public green spaces. 

Century 21 Real Estate, Domus Aurea Interiors, More | Oasis Hallandale 

Three tenants took space at Oasis Hallandale, a multiphase mixed-use complex under construction in Hallandale Beach

The project development group, led by Giuseppe Iadisernia, obtained a temporary certificate of occupancy for Oasis Hallandale’s second commercial phase, which is where the tenants leased space. 

Century 21 Real Estate took a 630-square-foot office, Domus Aurea Interiors took a 1,600-square-foot space, and MGM Construction Group took a 4,300-square-foot space for its headquarters, according to a news release from the development group. MGM Construction is the general contractor for Oasis Hallandale.

An art gallery, an Italian restaurant and a Mediterranean eatery also leased space at the second commercial phase. The names of these tenants weren’t immediately disclosed. 

Oasis Hallandale, at 1000 East Hallandale Beach Boulevard, includes a pair 25-story towers with 500 condo units, combined; and a commercial district consisting of five low-rise buildings, according to the release. The 59,200-square-foot commercial space includes 35,000 square feet of offices. 

Construction of Oasis Hallandale’s third phase started this year. Completion of the entire project is expected in 2026. 

1909 | West Palm Beach 

Nonprofit businesses incubator 1909 will move its headquarters, though it’s staying in downtown West Palm Beach

1909 will open a 9,000-square-foot space at the Comeau Building at 319 Clematis Street in the spring, according to the tenant’s news release. The nonprofit will move from its current outpost at 313 Datura Street. 

The new headquarters is double the footprint of the current one, the release says. 

Led by Shana Ostrovitz and co-founder Danielle Casey, 1909 is a membership organization that supports entrepreneurs and small businesses’ growth through mentorship, education and collaboration. It also offers its members co-working space. 

1909 has 177 active members that have generated more than $37 million in economic benefit for Palm Beach County. The nonprofit’s name is an homage to the year Palm Beach County was founded. 

Boca Raton-based Morning Calm Management owns the 10-story Comeau Building, records show. Built in 1927, the property is listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. 

Marken, Citrus Health Network, Baxcell Electronic, More | Doral 

More than five tenants signed deals at the Westside Plaza in Doral for a total of over 40,000 square feet of office space. 

Logistics firm Marken, freight forwarder Mid-America Overseas and wholesaler Baxcell Electronic signed new leases at Westside Plaza at 8200-8400 Northwest 33rd Street, according to a news release from JLL and a to brokerage spokesperson. Citrus Health Network and BDP International renewed their space at the office complex. 

Steven Hurwitz and Doug Okun were part of the JLL team that represented the property owners. Anthony LiVecchi of JLL represented BDP International, and Patricia Quintana of ComReal Miami – Doral represented Mid-America Overseas. Adriana Rosillo and Maggie Kurtz of Colliers represented Marken. 

A partnership among Square2 Capital, Highline Real Estate Capital and Ascentris owns the three-building, 365,000-square-foot Westside Plaza. The trio paid $73 million for the complex in 2021. 

MIAX | Wynwood

Miami-based securities exchange firm MIAX leased an office in Wynwood. 

MIAX, or Miami International Securities Exchange, took 38,400 square feet at the 545wyn building at 545 Northwest 26th Street in Miami, according to Avison Young’s third quarter Miami-Dade County report. 

Founded in 2012, MIAX is an exchange for U.S. options, equities and futures, and also allows access to international markets, according to its website. 

Chicago-based Sterling Bay, in partnership with Miami-based Place Projects, completed the 10-story, 325,000-square-foot 545wyn in 2020.
