New year, new job?
That’s at least the case for industry professionals making moves in the latest roundup of South Florida real estate hiring news.
Fort Lauderdale-based Native Realty, led by CEO Jaime Sturgis, promoted Dan Ross to executive director of the brokerage’s commercial division, according to a press release. Ross has been a senior associate with Native since 2018, LinkedIn shows. In his new role, he will helm Native’s team of commercial agents, providing training and mentorship, the release shows.
The move comes on the heels of Native launching its residential brokerage division in November, bringing in Whitney Dutton, Chris Sedlack and Arber Balani to lead it.
In Coral Gables, real estate lawyer Jeffrey Bass launched his solo act, Bass Law, according to a press release. Bass had previously co-founded Shubin & Bass, P.A., in Miami, where he was a litigator and attorney for Miami developers for more than 30 years. His clients have included Dezer Development, Treo Group and NR Investments.

In his new practice, Bass will focus on complex commercial litigation, including zoning, land use and municipal government, the release shows.
In Miami, agent Violeta Rocha is joining Chez Realty, according to an announcement. Chez is a Side-backed brokerage that Jose Medina and Dexter Brandao launched in 2022. Rocha was previously an agent with Miami-based Lifestyle International Realty for five years, LinkedIn shows.
