Ex-fund manager tied up in securities fraud sells Pinecrest estate for record $20M

Sale blows past previous $14M record

A former financial portfolio manager sold his Pinecrest mansion for $19.5 million, setting a new record in the town.

Trevor L. Taylor, who pleaded guilty to securities fraud and related charges, and his wife, Alejandra Maria Taylor, sold the 20,182-square-foot mansion at 6555 Southwest 102nd Street to CNEB LLC. The buyer is a Delaware entity that’s tied to a land trust. The buyer financed the purchase with a $13.7 million loan from First Horizon Bank, property records show.

The 10-bedroom, 10-and-a-half-bathroom home, on a 2-acre lot, was on the market for $21.8 million with Julian Johnston of the Corcoran Group. Lorena Rodriguez with Serhant represented the buyer, according to the listing.

In 2022, Taylor was charged with conspiracy to commit securities fraud, investment adviser fraud and wire fraud; a separate securities fraud charge, and a separate investment adviser fraud charge. The Securities and Exchange Commission alleged that Taylor, two other former senior portfolio managers at Allianz Global Investors US, and Allianz were involved in a massive investment fraud.

Taylor pleaded guilty. He reached an agreement with the SEC that bars him from the securities industry and from the brokering or sales/purchases of penny stocks.

The scheme resulted in the loss of billions of dollars of pension fund money for teachers, clergy, bus drivers, engineers and other working professionals, according to the complaint.

The Pinecrest estate, built in 2022, includes a pool deck, spa, cold plunge, a separate 1,000-square-foot gym, a tennis court and more, according to the listing. Taylor and his ex-wife Deborah paid $3.2 million for the property in 2017.

The latest sale beats a previous Pinecrest record. Last year, finance executive Andre Hakkak paid $14.3 million for the spec mansion at 8900 Southwest 64th Court. Developer Francisco Dionicio’s Dionicio Investment Group sold the property.

More recently in June, Major League Baseball pitcher Luis Severino paid $10.7 million for the under-construction home at 10801 Southwest 67th Avenue in Pinecrest. The nearly 11,300-square-foot home includes seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a separate guest wing, summer kitchen, three-car garage, pool, sauna and steam room.
