Retired NFL player Rob Konrad upgraded to a new waterfront home on the same street in Ocean Ridge, just two months after surviving at sea for 16 hours straight.
Konrad, a former Miami Dolphins player turned financial adviser, sold the 3,900-square-foot, four-bedroom house at 19 Harbour Drive and bought the 4,400-square-foot, four-bedroom home at 10 Harbour Drive.
Konrad sold his home for $5 million and paid about $4.8 million for the newer house.
Konrad and his wife, Tammy, made a profit on their home upgrade. The couple paid nearly $2 million for the house at 19 Harbour Drive in 2019, which means they sold it for 150 percent more. The house, with three and a half bathrooms, a pool and dock, was built in 2002 on a 0.2-acre lot.
Their new property sits on a larger 0.4-acre lot. The house, designed by Randall Stofft, was built in 2022. Property records show Jeffrey and Galen Giannetti sold the property, which includes a waterfront pool.
The Matt and Nick Team at Serhant, which includes Matthew Moser and Nick Gonzalez, represented Konrad in the purchase. The Corcoran Group’s Candace and Phil Friis represented the sellers.
Moser also represented the buyer of Konrad’s former home. Serhant’s John Stauffenberg represented Konrad in that sale.
The ex-Dolphin fell off his boat about 9 miles from the shore in early January and swam 27 miles over the course of about 16 hours. The Bahamian government recovered his boat. His new home does not appear to have a dock. Ocean Ridge is a small barrier island town near Boynton Beach in Palm Beach County. The town, which spans about 2 square miles, has experienced a few large sales. In 2021, a land trust paid $27 million for a waterfront mansion on North Ocean Boulevard. That deal likely holds the record for priciest sale in the town.
