Developers Carlos Rosso and Alex Vadia completed the Standard Residences, Midtown Miami, marking the first Standard-branded condos in South Florida.
Rosso’s Rosso Development and Vadia’s Midtown Development teamed up with Hyatt on the 12-story, 228-unit building at 3100 Northeast First Avenue. They secured their temporary certificate of occupancy and began closings, according to a news release. Douglas Elliman handled sales and marketing.
Sales launched in late 2021, with initial prices ranging from $329,000 to $829,000 and units ranging from 430 square feet to 965 square feet. The project is nearly sold out, with five units left, according to a spokesperson. It marks Rosso’s first major ground-up development since he left the Related Group during the pandemic. His other projects include Midtown Park by Prosper, which he is also co-developing with Midtown Development.
The Standard was designed by Arquitectonica with interiors by Urban Robot and more than 34,000 square feet of amenities, which include a landscaped rooftop with a pool, restaurant and bar by the Juvia Group, a gym and a pickleball court that doubles as a disco room. Retail tenants will include Mannarino, Sushi Garage, Rosetta Bakery Café and Privato Speakeasy.
The building is the first new condo project to be completed in the neighborhood since Hyde Midtown, a Related Group and Dezer Development condo-hotel that was built in 2018.
The Standard, now owned by Hyatt Hotels, operates the Standard Spa, Miami Beach, a waterfront hotel on the Venetian Islands in Miami Beach. The owners plan to renovate the hotel and add condos to the property, although those plans are on hold for now.
Another wave of projects is planned, including Midtown Park by Prosper; and Terra and Lion Development’s Jean-Georges Miami Tropic Residences.
A handful of developments are planned in the nearby Design District as well, including Miami Design Residences, a 26-story, 143-unit condo building being developed by Craig Robin’s Miami Design District Associates, Nadim Ashi’s Fort Partners, Raycliff Capital and Qatari firm Constellation Hotels Holding.
Earlier this year, they announced a partnership with the French hospitality brand Fouquet’s to operate a 12-story, 85-key boutique hotel also planned for the project.
