The $5 million and up market of luxury homes in Miami-Dade included a diverse mix of buyers and sellers as of late: French banker Olivier Sarkozy, Elon Musk’s attorney Alex Spiro, and developer Ana Codina.

Property records show Sarkozy, whose half brother is former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and who was previously married to Mary-Kate Olsen, paid $5.2 million for a non-waterfront home on North Bay Road

Jean Marie Echemendia and Andrew Kouri, as trustees, sold the four-bedroom, four-bathroom house, which spans nearly 3,000 square feet. Echemendia, a real estate agent with Douglas Elliman, was the listing agent. One Sotheby’s International Realty agent Lucia Marin represented Sarkozy, according to the listing. The 0.2-acre property previously sold in 2011 for $1.5 million.

In a separate deal, Spiro, a prominent attorney and partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, sold his penthouse at Two Park Grove in Coconut Grove for $6.3 million. Alex and Kate Spiro sold the 2,600-square-foot, three-bedroom and four-bathroom condo at 2821 South Bayshore Drive to a trust.

Elliman’s Daniel Dougherty and Annie De La Rosa were the listing agents.

Alex Spiro’s clients have included Musk, actor Alec Baldwin and former New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Spiro is representing Musk with his lawsuit the Securities and Exchange Commission brought against him last year, which they recently agreed to settle. Musk’s trust agreed to pay a $1.5 million civil penalty. The SEC alleged that Musk, the world’s wealthiest man, violated securities law in his bid to purchase Twitter, now called X. (Musk recently toured a waterfront estate in Miami Beach, according to Page Six.)

In another deal, developer Ana Codina sold her non-waterfront home at 5400 Banyan Trail in Coral Gables to a company linked to Raysa Fanjul for $7.7 million. The 6,800-square-foot home has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms and was built in 2000. Compass’ Ben Moss represented Codina in the deal. Raissa Herrara, with Douglas Elliman, represented the buyer.

Fanjul is married to sugar billionaire Alfonso Fanjul Jr. The Fanjul family owns Domino Sugar.

Codina is CEO of Coral Gables-based Codina Partners, the real estate development firm founded by her father, Armando Codina. She previously owned the home with her now ex-husband, attorney Robert Barlick Jr. The two-story house sits on a 1-acre lot.
