Former Miami Heat player Hassan Whiteside found a buyer for his waterfront Miami Beach home, asking $14.8 million.

The pending deal is the second priciest of the 16 luxury home contracts signed in Miami-Dade County between June 7 and June 14, according to the weekly report by Douglas Elliman’s Eklund-Gomes team. The previous period saw 21 deals for luxury homes in the market asking a combined $172 million.

The report tracks listings of homes and condos asking $4 million and up in Miami-Dade that are included in the Multiple Listing Service. The properties spent an average of 225 days on the market.

The 13 single-family homes and three condos that entered contract last week notched a total asking dollar volume of $136.8 million, according to the report published by the team led by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes. Thirty-four luxury listings were added to the market, for a total of 1,167 listings.

The single-family homes that entered into contract last week have an average asking price of $7.9 million and spent an average of 260 days on the market. They total $102.4 million in asking dollar volume.

At the top of the report is the waterfront home at 9360 Balada Street in Coral Gables. The eight-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bathroom house in Old Cutler Bay spans nearly 6,800 square feet on a half-acre lot.

A trust paid $16.9 million for the property in 2021, the same year the house was built, and was most recently asking $22.9 million. Compass’ J.J. Snow Hansen had the listing.

The second most expensive property in the report is Whiteside’s home at 528 Lakeview Court in Miami Beach, on the market for $14.8 million with Jill Eber of the Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker.

Built in 2014, the five-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bathroom home spans just over 5,400 square feet on a 0.4-acre lot. It has 5,400 square feet of interior space. A trust controlled by Whiteside paid $7.3 million for the property in 2016.

Whiteside played for the Heat between 2014 and 2019; he now plays for the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association.

The condos that secured buyers last week have an average asking price of $11.5 million and spent 71 days on the market, on average. They total $34.4 million in asking dollar volume, or an average of $3,021 per square foot.

Last week in New York, buyers signed contracts for 25 homes, according to Olshan Realty. Their combined asking price is over $299 million, and the typical home spent 680 days on the market.
