🏆 Residential: Bal Harbour had the top home sale recorded in South Florida. An LLC led by smartphone mogul Samuel Ohev-Zion sold a home at 166 Bal Bay Drive for $26 million. The buyer was a company managed by Moses Strauss, a real estate investor, and interior designer Susan Strauss. Douglas Elliman’s Ruthie and Ethan Assouline of the Assouline Team represented the buyer and seller. The property dates to 1995 and Ohev-Zion and developer Jacob Ohayon planned a $45 million spec mansion for the site, which last sold in 2024 for $16.5 million.
🏆 Commercial: The top commercial sale to hit records Tuesday was for the Coconut Creek Plaza at 5233-5281 Coconut Creek Parkway in Margate for $21.5 million. Robert Cambo’s Alliance Partners was the seller and a company managed by CEMC Holdings 2 LLC was the buyer. The retail shopping center spans about 122,500 square feet. The price per square foot was roughly $180. Benjamin Silver and Kelley Greenstein from CBRE handled the listing, according to Connect CRE.
📊 Residential: In Boca Raton, a home at 443 East Alexander Palm Road sold for $10.5 million. The buyers were Siggy Flicker, a former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” cast member, and her husband, Michael Campanella. The seller was a trust. Measuring about 8,200 square feet, the house has five bedrooms, five bathrooms and two half baths. The price comes to about $1,300 per square foot. David Roberts with Royal Palm Properties had the listing and Joyce Schneider with Castles by the Beach Realty brought the buyer.
By the Numbers: DOGE promised lease cuts. The federal rent bill barely budged.
Last year, the Trump administration made slashing the federal government’s office footprint a centerpiece of its cost-cutting campaign.
But the savings have yet to show up in the government’s rent bill.
A new TRD Data analysis of U.S. General Services Administration records found that the federal government’s annual rent obligations were essentially unchanged through May, despite hundreds of lease terminations touted by the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.
