A former NASCAR driver put his Charlotte-area mansion on the market.
Robbie Faggart is asking just shy of $6 million for his 9,200-square-foot Concord mansion, spanning over 53 acres at 525 Lake Lynn Road, the Charlotte Business Journal reported.
The price comes out to roughly $641 per square foot. Michelle Rhyne of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty is the listing agent.
Faggart, who raced from 1987 to 2022, grew up 10 minutes away from Concord’s Charlotte Motor Speedway, formerly known as Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
NASCAR is one of the driving forces behind Charlotte’s luxury housing market, with many of its top racers, including Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Denny Hamlin, living or having lived in the area. The NASCAR effect is especially apparent in affluent suburbs in Lake Norman, north of Charlotte.
Faggart’s mansion, built in 1996, previously hit the market at $6.3 in March 2023. Despite the price chop, it’s by far the most expensive home for sale in Concord, the outlet reported.
The gated estate features five bedrooms, two aerated ponds, expansive patio areas and a private boat dock and pier. It also includes two garage workshops, spanning more than 9,000 square feet, and a pool.
The property is enrolled in North Carolina’s Forestry program, qualifying it for property tax savings through the state’s forestry present-use value program. In addition, the mansion appeared in “3: The Dale Earnhardt Story,” a 2004 film about the racing legend.
Faggart purchased the property eight years ago. Rhyne highlighted Faggart’s attachment to the home but noted his decision to downsize, hoping that another family will cherish the estate as much as he did.
