Winter Park mansion sells for $9.7M

After sitting on the market for nearly a year, a Winter Park mansion on Lake Maitland has finally landed a buyer.

The 9,500-square-foot home at 4 Isle of Sicily, about 25 miles north of downtown Orlando, just sold for $9.7 million, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The price comes out to $1,018 per square foot.

John Pinel and Mick Night of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty represented the sellers,  Kerry and Steven Parker, while Brian Mitnik of Re/Max 200 Realty represented the buyers,  Sean Egan and Wenrong Hu.

The five-bedroom mansion hit the market at just under $11 million in May 2023. The sellers opted to stand pat on the asking price, despite the home lingering on the market.

“When you get around $10 million in Winter Park, there are buyers, but not a ton of buyers,” Pinel told the outlet. “It’s a challenge to find homes on the Chain of Lakes that are currently updated or newer construction, so there’s always a demand for that.”

Affluent buyers typically avoid homes that are older or need renovating, Pinel said. 

Built in 2014, the mansion offers five full bathrooms, a four-car garage, wine room and high-end appliances. The primary suite on the lower level features a fireplace, steam room and a bar with a refrigerator. Outside there’s a pool, kitchen, fire pit, boat dock and ample views of the lake.

It’s one of just 11 homes on the Isle of Sicily, and one of five with waterfront on both sides of the property. 

“I think the Isle of Sicily is one of the most special spots in all of Orlando,” Mitnik said. “There are not many lakefront properties in Winter Park out there, and there is very little inventory that you didn’t have to build.”
