Microsoft’s chief marketing officer notched one of the largest residential purchases of the year in the state of Washington.
Takeshi Numoto and his wife, Mari, bought a 7,200-square-foot lakefront property in Hunts Point for $19.6 million, the Seattle Times reported. Z&M Mansion LLC was the seller, offloading the home for less than its $23.6 million appraised value and $21.5 million original list price in May, the Puget Sound Business Journal reported. It’s also below the typical asking price for homes in Hunts Point, where two homes are currently on the market for more than $24 million.
The price amounts to $2,715 per square foot.
The seller purchased the roughly 1-acre property at 3253 Hunts Point Road in 2014 for $4.7 million, King County records show. The former owners completed a multimillion-dollar rebuild of the property in 2020, creating a steel and glass open-concept structure.
Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty’s Becky Gray and Moira Holley represented the seller, who hasn’t been identified. Coldwell Banker Bain’s Michael Ko and Karen Saino represented the buyers.
The five-bedroom home has 82 feet of Lake Washington frontage and is on the same street as the priciest home sale in King County this year, which telecommunications executive Bruce McCaw and his ex-wife Jolene sold in April for $38 million. A property in Mercer Island sold last week for $28 million to a Texas oil magnate. Jeff Bezos set a local record last year with the $63 million sale of his home on Hunts Point Road.
Takeshi Numoto has been with Microsoft for nearly three decades and took over the chief marketing officer role in 2023. Last week, the computing giant announced plans to lay off 4,800 employees, including more than 600 in Washington. The company laid off upwards of 15,000 workers last year.
