Brouhaha breaking out over Lower Manhattan

A he said-he said brouhaha has apparently erupted between Mayor Michael Bloomberg and developer Larry Silverstein. The contention stems from their differing opinions on what to do with Ground Zero and the area around it. Bloomberg has said he wants more housing and less new office space. Silverstein plans 10 million square feet of office space in the area. Silverstein said Monday that the mayor recently came around to his reasoning; the mayor’s office responded with a hearty denial. more [NYDN]
