Pressure’s on Silverstein over Ground Zero

Larry Silverstein, the developer who controls the World Trade Center site, is reportedly under increasing pressure to relinquish some of the 16-acre site so that the redevelopment of Ground Zero can proceed faster. The pressure is coming from the state, the Port Authority, and, perhaps most famously, from the city. Mayor Bloomberg has publicly chided Silverstein for what supposedly holding up the redevelopment with his plans for millions of square feet of fresh office space. more [NYT]
