Disinformation on new Yankee Stadium

Pamphlets distributed to South Bronx residents by the New York Yankees about a new Yankee Stadium may be misleading. The pamphlets tout a zero cost to taxpayers, for instance, for the stadium, but that’s not entirely true: Public subsidies have been offered by the city and the state for virtually every component of the stadium’s construction, and taxpayers are expected to pick up the tab for replacing parkland absorbed by the stadium and for building underground parking garages. more [Metro]
